Why Choose an Urgent Care Clinic for a Physical?

For camp and sports physicals, your local urgent care clinic is often the quickest and most convenient choice. Skip the wait for a doctor’s appointment or school clinic delays–we make the process fast and hassle-free. Our clinic offers:

  • Same-Day Exams: You don’t need an appointment–get in, get seen, and get cleared when it fits your schedule.

  • Extended Hours & Weekends: Unlike school clinics or primary care offices, we’re open late (until 8 p.m.) and on weekends.

  • Affordable & Transparent Pricing: We offer self-pay options and accept most insurance plans.

  • Expert Urgent Care Providers: Our experienced providers have experience in evaluating athletes for safe sport participation.

  • Multiple Nearby Locations: We have many locations across the Upstate and Midlands. Find a Prisma Health Urgent Care near you!

What’s Included in a Physical Exam?

Sports and camp physicals ensure athletes and campers are healthy and ready to participate by identifying any medical concerns that could impact athletic performance or safety. At Prisma Health Urgent Care, our comprehensive evaluation includes:

  • Vitals Check: We measure an athlete’s height, weight, blood pressure, and heart rate to assess overall health.

  • Vision Screening: A quick eye test ensures athletes meet the necessary vision standards for their sport.

  • Flexibility & Joint Health Exam: We evaluate the joints and their mobility, as well as overall flexibility, to identify potential injury risks.

  • Medical History Review: We assess past illnesses, injuries, or conditions (like asthma or prior concussions) to help us make the best recommendations for safe participation.
  • Fitness Assessment: Our providers examine the ears, nose, throat, heart, lungs, and abdomen to assess cardiovascular and respiratory health. This helps determine if any activity limitations are needed.

Get the Right Physical for Your Activity

Camp and sports physicals require slightly different assessments and vary depending on the activity you are participating in. Here are the individuals we provide physicals for, along with the types of activities they typically participate in.
